CONCEPT NOTE

Abstraction paintings of Living Lines by Ashok Namdeo Hinge

Hinge is residing in Mumbai for two decades. Metaphorically Mumbai is a charmer. Its pace, race and maze of life is its mute biography; a rich live literature that is embraced and espoused by artist in his paintings. It has such a rich heritage that artist get swayed in its environment and his innate reflexes gush in form of paintings.
This series of abstract paintings ‘Living Lines’ is an extension and elaboration of Ashok Hinge’s earlier series. It is a thoughtful progress in the earlier developed concept of people around him.
The concept is artist’s broadened experience of the world around him. It is a meticulous observation that has now intensified, with understanding and knowing the core nature, behavior, body language and approach of all types of people in the society.
Hinge has showcased subjects like family bonding, gathering, celebration, union of friends, resting people, travellers, crowded market places, hollowness of people and embodiment of emotions which create rhythmic movements in the paintings. So the visual effects of the simplified images not only seem ‘attractive to the eyes’ but also ‘strikes the mind’.
